How are learning professionals dealing with the social web?

I'm a newcomer to Ning but am I missing something about the Ning profile? There doesn't seem to be a way to add much detail about yourself or to link to another site (such as my blog). Any thoughts/suggestions?

You can put the RSS feed of your blog on your page (left hand column) and use the 'my box' box to put a bio in (middle column) If you look at my page (click my Weemee), you can see I've put my blog's RSS in - can choose posts or just titles)
