Should I Moodle?

Just today I discovered my college has a Moodle - a great open source VLE, that's just been sitting there unused for a whole year! I'm going to use it to host some copyrighted resources that we've bought.
The thing that troubles me slightly is that I currently put all my resources on a wiki and communicate with my students via a googlegroup. Will opening up the VLE confine rather than free us? At the moment we are 'out there' with our small pieces loosely joined. Just thinking aloud :-)

So how do you invite everybody to be friends with minimum effort?

Tried to post this from school and failed (another issue). Do I have to do a lot of cut and paste with email addresses or is there an easier way (from a lazy antisocial toad) - Ronnie

edonis introductions

Presently, sixty-five education professionals have signed-up to take part in edonis; forty of whom have joined the Ning network.

In advance of the November start, it would be great if you could answer the questions I've listed on your profile page. I will email the questions to those participating outside of the Ning network and will post their answers here, if they wish.

I am hopeful of attracting more educators over the next four weeks. A couple of ways you can help with… Continue

Limited profile

I'm a newcomer to Ning but am I missing something about the Ning profile? There doesn't seem to be a way to add much detail about yourself or to link to another site (such as my blog). Any thoughts/suggestions?

This should be great.

Looking forward to how the project evolves and learning from others experience with Web 2.0.
