- Please tell the group about your work in education
- originally trained as secondary MFL teacher, now teach Primary aged children in two schools in Sutton Coldfield to teach Spanish - and many other things too! I am also a Language Coach for Birmingham, helping other teachers to implement the KS2 Languages Framework and regularly speak at our ELL RSGs. I am a Teachers TV ambassador and an eTwinning Ambassador as well. I am increasingly being asked to speak at conferences about Primary Language Learning, eTwinning and the use of technology in both.Upcoming 'engagements' include the IOW conference, Anglo Spanish eTwinning conference in Madrid, Birmingham Primary languages Conference and the Primary Language Show in Liverpool.
- Briefly, in what ways do you presently use the internet in an education context?
- I use the Internet as a rich seam of information, resources and ideas for my teaching. I also use it to network through Twitter, EdTechRoundup etc, for CPD and for communication. Pupils use it to enhance their learning through sound recording, online tools such as Voicethread, and to communicate with other countries.
- What do you wish to get out of participating in edonis over the next 3 years?
- I'm interested to find out what others are doing and to see how it compares with my experience; to learn from other participants; and to reflect on my own practice.
