Please tell the group about your work in education
I'm a former full-time college professor (computer science, writing, literature) though currently still an adjunct teaching literature. I work for Pearson Education, considered by some to be an enemy of the teaching community, in the Teacher Education and Development Group. My team is responsible for the design and development of content for online, blended, and f2f delivery. Our content is used as individual courses, in graduate programs, and as professional development.
Briefly, in what ways do you presently use the internet in an education context?
Research, resource, connections but also, of course, as a means to deliver content. The Internet and its vast resources are critical to my work, but also to my own growth as an instructor. I learn constantly from my colleagues.
What do you wish to get out of participating in edonis over the next 3 years?
I want to learn more about how others see the impact of online education, what we see will be the future of online education and what avenues it could take. Part of that is my own selfish geek curiosity, but part of it is so I can help my team build the best possible content to serve classroom teachers.
Finally, if applicable, please give the address of your own website. The link will be listed on the main edonis page
